Can you just take the brackets off that hold the reflectors on or do ypu have to cut them off and leave the brackets? Did a quick search and didnt find anything on this.

Right side just eliminate bracket and all. Left side- cut bracket off, but leave the part that holds brake line. Then just file any burrs where you made cut and brush a little black paint on bare metal.
