Attempting to replace my front pulley with a 30 tooth as many of you have done, however ~ I cannot get the 30mm retaining nut to move. I just tried a 6pt socket and ¾ ratchet with 2’ persuader. I believe I released the tabs properly and I do know what a 100 lbs/ft feels like. What am I missing gents? RH / LH threads? I have done the search process here but no one mentions having any trouble. Your knowledgeable thoughts are needed. I feel a little foolish as it looks so straight forward. Thanks

Dealership did mine, 10 minutes, 20 bucks, you'll love this mod
Shane - I called my local bike shop (not dealership) after I posted and if I don't get it done tonight I can bring it in tomorrow.
Thanks for this input and all the good input you have posted on this forum. More on that later @ your current seat vs Mustang.

I think when Fujums did his he had an impact wrench. Maybe send a shout out to him. Also check local auto parts stores for their rental tools. They have all kinds of stuff that just requires a deposit(ie no real money to rent the tool)

Hey Gunny, I was the first to do this and new pulley came with yami instructions. I am positive that the threads are normal right hand thread. I used a 1/2 Snap-on impact wrench to take the nut off and then torque wrench of course to tighten nut back on.

Thanks 11, I was hoping you would chime in. An impact did cross my mind but feared causing other damage. I hate it when a few minute job turns into a couple of days. Did I mention I work on ‘patience’? I’m stopping by my local bike shop this morning. Can’t wait to experience what you and others have noticed in the drive.

I had to use a 8ft piece of pipe and steady pressure to get mine lose and yes it is a standard rh thread. I was nervous as shet but I just put constant pressure on it and it slowly started turning.

When I replaced the front sprocket on my R6 race bike I found that despite the service manuals torque spec, the factory sprocket was actually much tighter. Probably the same on the Stryker.

Isn't this an old thread? But anyways. Take a breaker bar, aim it at 10:00, make sure the socket is well secured and at the handle of the bar. Step on it and put your weight down on it. After, tighten it with a torque wrench. Less than 30 min work
