Try the forum search, dude. There's probably half a dozen threads already running on the pulley subject.
i did but did not find the part number that is why i asked and got my answer.

No problem sscottab, so many times information is buried so deep in threads, you can't find them. BlackVapor is right, there's a huge thread(s) out there, and I remember the part number being out there but was only 1 or 2 posts that had it. You can't be expected to find them.

I wish there was a moderator that could be in charge of following mods, and actually have a thread dedicated to part no's and how-to's. Something that wouldn't be convoluted by member posts, so when you need to find information..it's right there.

Finally rode a Stryker with pulpy swap. Definiitely grungy and loss of top end speed. Also I noticed belt position was different slightly. I am definitely not up for it. Bike takes off well and I was to use my gear 5 the way its meant to be. Not for everyonr mod.

I don't know what you mean by grungy...but loss of top speed? I haven't noticed, but then again, I don't usually cruise around at 110-120 mph. I can still hit 70-85 in third with no problem. Belt position will be different because it's a smaller pulley, so the axle has to be adjusted back some. I personally think it's on e of the best mods to be done performance-wise...but like you said...all mods aren't for everybody :thumb:

You and Saan must be best buddies! I have the 30 tooth front pulpy & I got 72 mph in 2nd gear when it hit rev limiter. Was a Watkins Glen International Raceway yesterday and had it up to around 80 mph and never needed to go over 3rd gear. I forget who here on the forum has already tested there top speed with both pulleys and no difference.

No offense, but I have no idea how you came to this conclusion. After I did the 30-tooth swap I did a test run specifically to see if I had lost any top end, and I recorded the run. Here is the video which I’ve posted to this forum before. look at 1:20 in and you will see me push the speedo well past the 130 mark with no rev limiter kicking in. absolutely no top end lost in this mod.

You are correct sir, no top end lost but definitely higher rev at higher speeds
Yep you have to have higher revs in all the gears to match the same speed as the original 31 tooth sprocket but I did the mod to get more torque and remove that lugging in 1st, 2nd and 3rd when you were just in-between sweet spots for a given gear.

I know the Stryker has slightly different mappings than the 1300 but given that the 1300 comes with this front sprocket I just think that is the way it should have been.

As for top speed... to each their own but I have no intentions of ever trying to find out what that is. I'm just too much of a P---y :) Heck, 90 is fast for me...

I guess you guys seen this 145MPH run on a V-Star 1300 on you-tube already?

Getting off the thread topic but I have seen that video a few time. I for the life of me can't believe how quickly he hits 100+ and beyond so quickly from 80mph. I have tried this on an open stretch and there was now way I was able to climb to those speeds that fast. I know its all power to weight ratio and my 220lb is not going to let me accelerate like someone who weighs 160lbs. Does anyone else's climb that quickly? If so, what setup do you have?

Yammyboy – this is not directed at you because I know this is not your video and “breaking 145mph” is the title of the video. That being said.. 145mph??? his speedo hit 130 and then backed off. The other thing is it didn’t look like even 130 to me. Not sure what this person has done to their bike but it looks to me like the speedo reading is WAY off. I’ve done this run a lot and recorded them on video. If you look at how quickly the speedo climbs up to 130… it take my Stryker a lot longer to run up to those speeds. Also when he was at “130” the freeway signs were not flying by as fast as they should be at those speeds, at least from what I could see. I would estimate he was doing about 110 by my eye. Compare it to my speed run video earlier in this post and you will see how long it take the speedo to climb up to 130 and how fast objects on the side of the road are going by. And it just seems highly unlikely that a Vstar would reach those speeds and so quickly.
