This is strange! Both Bike Bandit and these guys show a long spacer in addition to the regular small spacers. My manual does not show this long spacer and I'm pretty sure there was'nt one when I removed my wheel.

Is this an error? These guys also note that the part number for the small spacers has changed. Was there a recall perhaps?

The long spacer goes in between the bearings, on the inside of the wheel.

Ok thanks! Should there be grease on the outside of this sleeve? Or just grease up the axle and thats it?

what kind of grease do you use? white lithium?

Yeah, white lithium is good.

Natedog, do not torque that too much, I believe its 15 lbs.......or so.
I may have to go back and check.

Axle is 52 ft-lbs and pinch bolts are 14 ft-lbs.

So that is what you were talking about? I thought maybe you were saying be careful about torquing the spacer and figured I was missing something as that didn't make sense to me.

no, when you put it all together and torque the actual axle back, I
knew it wasnt much and you shouldnt torque it too much or the
bearings may burn up.
