It's becoming popular to add TCW-3 two stroke oil to the E-10 fuel of 4 stroke engines, especially smaller ones like outdoor power equipment and such but all the way to auto's too..the prevailing wisdom is that it adds upper cylinder, injector and fuel pump lube countering the drying effect of ethanol. Claims of better fuel efficiency and much smoother quieter engines are the consensus. A ratio of 640:1 or 1oz. to 5 gal. is called the standard, some are going lighter and adding other chemicals like acetone.
I thought my Stryker could benefit from a smoother quieter engine so I ran the 640:1 'standard mix' 80 miles today and I have to say it works. I noticed less engine noise at idle right away and with only 220 miles on my motor I used 1.824 gallons in 77 mi. avg. 40 mph.
Having said that I do not burn ethanol fuel in anything but my autos, but, if I had no choice I'd really look hard at this because everyone involved agrees it's making a difference.
