Hey
I only picked up my bike from the dealer on tuesday. He said it was a full tank but even if it wasnt....thats ok....not really my question.
Odo says 85 and the Eo came on....not the light tho. Is that how its supposed to be? Eo...then light? Or are they supposed to come on at the same time?
Anyways...I put about 2 gal in from my 5lb can and the gauge stayed at Eo. Didnt increase the o's. I thought maybe insted of just turning the key on....I needed to actually start the bike.....but that didnt do it either.....stayed with just 1 o.
Little help....

Thnx

Btw....If it was a full tank and it seems like the light might have gone on a lil early....its probly cuz I have idled the bike alot more than I would normally. Starting it up for friends, testing out how the cobra slip on sounds, etc.

My gauge is rather touchy, if i fill the tank and leave it on the sidestand the gauge always reads low. Not completely sure but i believe my light comes on after i get to the reserve rradout on the gauge. That would be after the last Eo, the gauge starts with a full graph for the reserve. On a side note, i get about 20 miles on reserve and its time to push the bike.

It takes mine a minute or so before it changes. Try to just fill the bike up and ride, you shouldn't have to hit reset or anything. As for the order of the lights, mine shows one circle way before the yellow light comes on.

yup, have had a similar experience. filled the bike up and the gauge still read E0. Took a couple of minutes of riding and then it read full. Thought at first I had forgotten to plug the sending unit back in after installing the tank!

Hey guys....thnx.
Went for a ride and right when I pulled into the street....it popped up with 3 o's. So I guess its just touchy or the float was stuck. No biggie. Just trying to figure out all the ins and outs of the bike.
Thnx again

Float is not stuck. All our bikes take a few minutes or less riding time to switch back to full. I don't know why, but know that's the way it is. EO shows first, then light comes on. Hopefully when light comes on you are within 15 to 20 miles of gas station. some here have reported only getting 25 miles engine quits. There is no reserve setting on fuel shutoff valve either.

The speedo will change to the EO. Little futher on the light will come on and the odometer will change to 0 and start counting up. At 20 miles u better be at a gas station. Best I got out of mine was26 miles and then stuck on side of road cussing like a sailor. The light and gauge will reset after few miles of riding. Just have to reset ur trip odometer manualy tho. Hope this helps.

The E0 comes on to indicate you are at a 1/4 tank (1 gallon left ) The low fuel light comes at about a 1/2 gallon of fuel left. Depending on the MPG you are getting will determine how far you will go before empty. MPG is very different for everyone. For me I ride mainly highway with minimal gear and a single rider (250lbs) with some mods and I average 44 mpg. Based on that I have about 22 miles till empty once the low fuel light comes on.
