well friend, when you are in 3rd and 4th gear and get on it hard from a low to mid rpm range- the air box will roar (seriously) until rpm gets near mid to upper range. Even more so if you are going uphill where bike is working alittle and needs more air. you will here this over your exhaust pipes! The other great thing about this mod over the aftermarket air cleaners out there is that- the bugs wont collect in the screens. I have taken cover off numerous times to check for any problems and the K&N filter is just as clean as the day I put it in there- about 1400 miles ago.SCHIMBO said:I did half of mine but I have no idea how it sounds. Lol.
Well I never checked that LOL. When I took cover off to change to the K&N air filter is when I got the idea to open the Airbox up a little. So I did the 1/2 mod then. Did not want to go to far at that point because I had done the Cat Mod also and needed to wait for a Fuel Processor.SCHIMBO said:Did u notice anything with the k&n. As opposed to stock
I never have had any popping except when I had all 4 drilled holes open in each exhaust pipe. That was with the fuel programmer, but before the full airbox mod. Now I'm thinking I need to take the last plug from each pipe leaving all 4 holes open. I don't think I was drawing enough air before which was causing the popping. Will try tomorrow and let you know what happens.8sec-z said:Did you notice a reduction in decelleration exhaust popping with the air box mod?
Assuming you rode it before the fuel programmer...thx
cool thanks I think i'll go ahead and do it tonight. Now where did I put my dremel tool hmmm.11stryker said:Oh Yaa!! Badass! If you havent opened up your exhaust or have a Fuel programmer- you may only wanna do the 1/2 mod.
