Gear Indicator

Is there a Gear Indicator that would work with our Stryker?
The GI Pro is for Suzuki or Kawasaki. Plus I don't even know if this bike has the lower gears on a timing retard like those do. But a Gear Indicator would be nice (not for $500 though).

I don't know why on earth you would want one; any vehicle I've ever ridden or driven tells you pretty clearly when it wants a different gear. The Stryker is no exception.

I did find this: http://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/automotive/006/index.html
Seems like a pretty cool project, if you're into that sort of thing.

One already made up for $50, I guess. They're out there.
I was thinking about that on the way to work today... you could do it by making a bracket that mounts to the evap cannister bracket, I think. Don't know right off how you'd make it look pretty, but I think it could be done.

There's cheaper tachs out there too, though I don't know about their quality. http://www.jpcycles.com/product/5600267

Guys I have ask this question to friends that have been riding for years and all they said is get use to the engine sound to change gears. Is this reliable to do get use to the engine sound or thats just the way of hardcore bikers. I would love a gear indicator...
I don't know if I'd call it hardcore... I've been driving cars with manual transmissions and bikes my whole life, it's just something you get used to doing.

Not to burst your bubble guys but having a gear indicator will not cure this habbit. I know because my last 2 bikes had gear indicators (one factory and one aftermarket) and I still kept looking for another gear. I thought it would help but the thing is you don't look at the thing before you shift, you just do it. Then look at it and say to yourself "oh yeah right I'm already in top hear"
My Shadow had a sixth gear light. I also found it pretty useless. Even when I had sixth gear, I felt around for seventh from time to time :p The bulb burnt out some years ago and I never bothered to replace it.
