GMan Bully V.S. EJK Controller?

I'm in the market for a new Fi controller. My original thought was to go with the GMAN Bully, but I ran across EJK/Dobeck controllers and now I'm not sure. It appears they are both the same controller? Or at least appear to have related functionality.

So now it's a matter of which one do I buy, GMan Bully, or Dobeck, I'm leaning towards Dobeck since not only is it cheaper, but they also have a Military Discount, so might even be more of a savings.

Has anyone ever installed or know if these 2 products are truly the same thing, just branded..

Thanks
Chip

I ran a search for the EJK controller on here. This is literally the first and only thread on here regarding it. You might be the first to try it out!

*edit: of course, I've been proven wrong again! :-X
M's thread shows he installed it, and likes it. Below is a line from his thread.

""Also installed the EJK fuel controller found here: http://electronicjetkit.com/Cruiser/viewproduct.asp?partnumber=9120292 ""
Thanks, doing more research on the controller, it appears it is commonly sold as a variety of different controllers just rebadged...

For instance it is the Arleen Ness Big Shot2, also Two Brothers Juice Box and so on. I suspect it is also the GMan Bully just different face plate..

If that is true that I'm the only one asking about this, then I guess I'll be the guinea pig. :) That is if their costs are a much better savings. Still have yet to get info on the Military discount, and if there is shipping involved.

Will keep you all posted and will pull trigger towards end of this week when I get paid :)

Got 2 actually. One on the Stryker for about 3 weeks, the other on my quad for about 2 years.

Works great :)

Thanks _M_ for the info... Looks like it might be a winner. Lower cost, and at least one other Stryker Owner has it :)

is yours mounted under the seat in the tool caddy?

It comes with a Velcro strip so you can mount it wherever you want. Mine is under the seat Velcro'd to the battery. I removed my tool caddy whenever I put the progressive spring in and never re-installed it for one reason of another.
Well looks like it's the EJK for me. The Price is far too good to compare. Almost $100 off GMan's price and that is shipped.

Thanks for the info _M_ and others who helped out. I'll let you all know how it goes when I get it installed.

Almost $100 off? How much was the military discount? Sounds like you got a great deal. I ordered my GMan Bully on Friday.. Always find something better once you order something.. LOL

LOL sorry a couple days late on the post... It was $175 shipped... a deal far too good to pass up. Just need to show Military ID, or DD214 via Fax. So all your Military or former Military, this is a great deal.

I agree, Gman website doesn't have much information at all. It was highly recommended on here, so I ordered the Gman. I think the information on the EJK site will actually help me with my Gman. I haven't got it yet, I wonder how good the directions are that come with it.
Gmans instructions are pretty basic. But like looks like Ejk and Gman are the same. I'm going to use this website to adjust my Gman. I don't feel like I have it adjusted it right.

Does the gman tell you what it comes set for? I will have a slip on and opened up air box when I get it . I am thinking it should work good the way it comes . I remember seeing a post with suggested settings, I will check that out when I get it .

No its doesn't unless I missed it.
But both look like they start at the same base settings
I think the EJK says it comes set for intake and exhaust. I think I saw it on their website. I will call gman..

Yes EJK comes pre-set for stage 1 mods.

So just to ask, does stage 1 mean new exhaust, and air box? and if so, would drilled 4 1/2" holes in baffles like I currently have, and then doing the AirBox Mod, basically the same as stage 1, and I'll need little setting changes?

Stage 1 mods are air cleaner and pipes. Programmer is really considered part of stage 1 mods but anyhow...

Idk how much leaner it would run with just the airbox mod and drilled baffles, but it's not near as much as with a full intake and pipes. I ran with my intake and drilled baffles (eight 1/2" holes in each one) for about a month with no programmer. Drilling the baffles doesn't really increase much airflow unless you've drilled deep into the back baffle.

Point being, no it's not really the same as stage 1 mods, so a programmer wouldn't really be necessary, but it's not gonna hurt either. You can always turn it down a little if you need to like you said. I'd rather run a little rich than too lean.
