I just had my SideMount plate bracket snap in half on me while I was riding. No idea that was coming, it was solid everytime Ive ever washed and checked over the bike. Happened just as I caught a good wind blast off a passing semi. Scared the **** outta me, i felt something break and my stomach sunk instantly.

I had been wanting to change it out for a better looking mount so i guess nows the time. Wish i knew where it had come from just to warn others, but it was already on the bike when i purchased it. Just really pissed that the **** wires stayed intact which caused to bounce off the rear pulley and few times before i had her stopped. Now im stuck with a scuffed and dinged up pulley.

Anyone know who on the forums was making side mounts and if they still are? Looks like im in the market.

Straightjacket is or was making them. I believe he was just making them in spurts you'll need to contact him for the correct answer. Might also check dennis kirk, ebay and some other company that i can't remember right off hand something like custom road.... don't recall someone on here will know..

adding to Deputy Stryker, if Straighjacket isn't doing them right now then Road6 Customs has them.

Which one did you have that broke?
I wish i knew where it came from, I'd share a few words about with them!

Thanks for the offer, but Ill prolly just have it powdercoated or maybe chromed. There is a place 1 town over that does custom work and they offer chroming and powdercoating. Luckily there wasn't any gouging in the pulley.

I bought the 3/4 after talking with a rep. I'm installing it next weekend, so hopefully it fits!

What does having to have white illumination have to do with getting the curved plate?
just figured it being curved would make it harder to properly illuminate. I haven't seen any curved frames with lights in them. I definitely dont want the big lamp hanging on top of it.

I haven't seen it lit up but on my bro's mean streak he has a light that's mounted on the inside of the fender that shines down on the plate.... Granted the mean streak has a lot thinner tire so clearance might be a issue and more so if you're running a wider tire. You can always drill an extra hole or 2 and add more led bolts
