I picked up a Shoei Qwest today. It's pretty quiet with the wind and now I can hear my exhaust much clearer now. But now I can hear the popping and less grumble from these drilled stock pipes. I am tapped out of cash. The V&H pipes will have to wait a while :-\

So to further procrastinate chores, here's a pic for your viewing pleasure.

That's really nice looking.

You ever notice how the exhaust takes on a nicer rumble after it's warmed up? I think after about an hour of riding it settles into its note.

So after about 25 miles using the helmet, I still like it overall. It whistle's really loudly when riding with the visor up (which I tend to do alot) and fogs up quick when it's cold out and I'm stopped. We'll see if I can get used to it or not in the following weeks.

DFW: it takes your bike an hour to warm up enough to get the note? I usually notice it around the 5-10 minute mark.

My pipe is much louder with a helmet on also, its something you will have to get used to. Aftermarket Exhaust won't be any quieter. Its just a GOOD trade-off of being Safe. Wear earplugs if you have to.

It's not the loudness that bothers me, it's the difference in tone. That and I did the half air box mod and I can hear all the sucking. I know, I'm picky!

Just put your shield up in the cold when stopped, thats what I do then put it back down once you take off.

I have a shoei quest also, great helmet just alittle pricey. Mine seems to fog up alot too even though they say it doesnt. I just leave it up a inch or so to defog it.

Agreed. I love the sound of the exhaust and the hiss of the intake.

the air sound is a good thing that way you know you have your money's worth
