I'm shopping for some new grips and wondering how to know which ones will fit the stryker? Does it really matter as long as they are the correct diameter or do they have to be make/model specific? Thanks in advance.

These are what I'm trying to buy for my stryker...just not sure if they will fit or how to know. Arlen Ness brand

Those grips will fit, sort of. Can't remember where, but I saw them installed on a Stryker on a website somewhere. I do believe that they had to powder coat part of the grip area on the black Stryker, because the metal showed however. Might have been Low and Mean.....This is my most delayed mod. Want the right grip for the look I want. Pretty much any grip will work as long as it is for a 1 inch bar. Only thing is you may have to use the original throttle guts to make it work. You can't rely on the websites to tell you if they would fit or not. I've spoken to some and not to many want to say yes, just in case something goes wrong you can't got back to them and say it's their mistake. Kuri is the only one that guarantees fit right now. There is a set of Arlen I want too, but Arlen Ness won't say yes, even though it fits 1 inch bar

gotcha man. This is what I was really wanting to know. Ive been looking around alot and I really like these. I realize the chrome bar will show through the holes, but that's ok. Just wanna make sure I can make them fit. At $130 or more, I don't wanna have a problem.

Hey Immortal. Tried looking for where I found the instulation of these grips on the Stryker , but can't now. Where if my memory doesn't fail me that they had to powder coat was at the end of the grip. I believe it was because they are not as long as the factory grip. On a other note however, I did find these grips advertise on the Yamaha site. So whats that tell you.

Think would look a little weird with white showing though the holes. The only reason I haven't bought them. Any pictures on the bars yet?
well, I hadn't thought of that. I just assumed the bars would be chrome underneath the grips??? Guess I better wait and find out. I'm sure someone on here that has replaced their stock grips can answer that question.

In this pic you can see that the throttle control cable hook-ups are machined in. That way you will see Chrome under the holes. Clutch side is chrome also.

Hope this helps.
Ok I guess I'm not sure what you're sayin Joe. I get that the holes are supposed to show the chrome bar underneath, but I thought you were questioning whether the stryker bars were "white" underneath the grips???

I love that video on the link......WOW!!! :p

Usually, the throttle sleeve is white or black. These have no sleeve. Its machined into the grip. It's where the throttle cables go to.
Ok...gotcha makes sense now. I've never bought grips before or any of this other stuff for that matter.....it's fun and addicting!!

Well I've done a little more looking around and I think I'm going to try these grips. The price is fantastic and the look sick. Not sure of the quality, but Nyjol has ordered from them and swears by them. They are 1 inch, so even though they specify Harley I'm thinking they may work. Any one have a opinion?

Harley has different set up for the cable attachment. Do a search of Avon grips and see the difference in hook ups for HD or metric.

Oh Great Thanks! Now I can't get them because if I do everytime I put my hands on them I'll be thinking that I gripping something else. ;D Not saying that there's anything wrong with that, if you go that way, but just not for me. (Seinfeld)

Ya I want to help shoot those videos too. I'll hold the lights. ;)

Not wanting to drag this out and be a PITA but HD and M. grips come with different hook-ups for cables. Someone said they made them work on the Stryker and that is very cool. Not sure what all that entails, but................Look at the spacing of where the lugs attach to grip. Now in some cases they will send you both hook-ups which is what Avond does. Then they have to be super glued in.
I hope I'm not being an AZZ but do have one small excuse for short points. Just had Lower Lumbar surgery on Sat. and been a rough come-back. SO, please take everything with a grain of salt, I mean now harm, no foul. Peace Brothers and Sisters.
Here are 2 pics, one from a metric grip and one from HD.

Hey Smokin, yes I see what you mean. As I look through suppliers, most of the grips all seem to be for the HD's. Yes someone I believe on this forum made the HD grips fit. If your out there how about sharing. ;) I'm thinking that only the sleeve is being used and the original throttle guts stay in place. Think I'll be trying that as the only nice grips seem to be for HD'S....Hoping your backs feeling better. Know where your at, I have a bulging disc between the 4 and 5. :(
