I bought a half helmet from Cycle Gear. I think it is called Street & Steel made by Bell. I also have a HJC half helmet which is very similar. Both are good helmets with zip-out ear covers and vents on top. I wish I could tolerate a full face but didn't grow up with them and hate the way they feel. I have this feeling of claustrophobia and detachment from the world around me.

Robert,

I'm in the same boat as you, I have a Full Face that I use daily to drive on 94 to work. Just feels safer riding with it, plus not a fan of rocks in the face.

But like you, I'd like to get a lighter half helmet just to ride around town in, and trips to Starbucks..

Anyhow the helmet I purchased was a Outlaw Helmet from Leatherup.com was approx $40. a good buy.

Hope this helps

I bought an Outlaw low helmet. It is the ultra low profile , but still DOT. Fits nice. Only $40 as mentioned. Lots of graphics to choose from. Check out Leatherup.com

Daytona has some nice helmets. Good graphics. Kinda pricey compared to Outlaw, but great to have more options. Thanks for the link.

Thank you Guys for all the responses - you helped me a lot - this forum rocks :)
it does. the dudes on here rule. i don't have a lot of guys to ride with. sometimes i'll go on rides w/ guys from my unit. outside of that, all the dudes that post regularly on here are my riding buddies. (virtually at least.)
