Harley tried, but they still didn't quite capture the sexy lines of the Stryker or the Raider.
Yes that's what my wife said too and I agree.:thumb:

Sorry Toby, but I have to disagree. Why would yamaha make their Bolt a 1600cc. If you want that kind of power you would buy the Raider. The Bolt is to compete with the HD 883. Thats the market that Yamaha did not have covered yet. The Star's 650, 900, are a different riding position. Alot of riders like that upright sitting position ride. Yamaha did not have a bike with that riding position.

I like the Bolt. Think this bike will do Yamaha well.:thumb:

This is what Yamaha should have done with the Stryker exhaust. (HD Breakout)

I agree I think the Bolt will do well competing against the Sportster...and that's exactly what Yamaha was going after. I also think the new HD Breakout looks pretty cool. I've always been a sucker for a bike with drag bars...reminds of the movie Harley Davidson and The Marlboro Man

I’m a little late coming to this thread, but good catch Toby, it’s quite obvious HD is chasing the Stryker design. Kind of interesting when I’ve been told by an HD guy to “get a real bike.” Give it a few years and HD guys will probably be saying they came up with that style first :p

Might get a chance to see the Breakout(CVO as well) in person this weekend. I'll comment again after that.
But lets be real and admit neither company is above looking at the other for ideas or to the past etc. Happens all the time in the automobile world. If something is "hot" everyone will copy it.
As for the Breakout, it'll probably do well since the diehard HD guys won't buy a Stryker/Raider/Fury/etc. Now they have an option to get a style they may have liked after seeing us on the road and still be HD. Win-win for the motor company.

I'll say this 1000 times: I just want to ride with a good group of people. I could care less what they ride. If they start constantly bashing on me I'll just stop riding with them...

A little bit of the 950 in there too, the spoke rimes? Hmm I think they've been watching the Star boys huh? It's getting out of control in my opinion, you don't know who is copying anymore.

Still the Breakout really doesn't have the flowing lines like the Stryker or Raider. It still has, for lake of words, the square look of a Harley.

Cambridge, I didn't mean they should have made the Bolt in the 1600cc range. I meant they should have filled that spot with a Strykerish style bike or something to make up for the discontinued Warrior.
They have more bikes to come out for 2014 so lets see what they have?

And Toby.. you might want to add, that HD is adding their staple abundance of chrome. and its all sitting in the middle. isnt this where HD (other than their name) gets the whole look at me i'm a harley.. i've got more chrome than anyone on the block, and your are paying extra 8000 dollars for it?

i like the lines, but yea. it looks way too busy for me. I dont know, for me i think HD tries too hard. maybe that's why their sales are struggling.
But me, because the Stryker was my first bike which i love to death, i just keep looking at the Victory Judge or the Jackpot, **** even the 8ball. i think Victory (or Polaris) knows the motorcycle market.
On a side note, ever since i put a 240 on my bike... yea.. i'm not going anywhere.. mimic my bike all you want HD.
