Well I assumed that. :) It was more on why, because I think its pretty drawn back now and pretty comfortable. But my second question still stands. What would you do to for a speedo? I don't think you can reattach it. Is it not welded to the bars?

Well Jan, I don't think anyone has yet, but maybe good idea for you. I'm sure a good welder can attach some speedo brackets to new bars.

Steve can weld and I have done a bit. Just wondered if there was an easier way. We would have to remove the bracket and reweld it to the new bars and then rechrome so it may be a hassle. I know they are pulled back but I would like to lie back a bit like you tall guys. I know that many Raider riders have done theirs.

I forgot you have chrome handlebars. The ravens are black, so would be easy to just repaint.

Jan have you looked into changing the seat yet? Someone on here or another forum said that he put, I think, a Mustang seat on and it pushed him far enough forward that he needed and was asking about forward controls. You would be able to kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

I think the Mustang seat also sits you higher than stock seat.

I ran into a guy on a Stryker Sunday and he had the Mustang seat with backrest, I will be absolutely getting this seat, very comfortable, somewhat wider and pushes ya forward maybe an inch, not a great difference and the backrest is adjustable as far as height and angle. Jan, that 1" or so may be all you need. My only cencern for you on this east is it may lift you up enough and the width of it may keep you from reaching the ground securely. However, this guy's wife was also on a Stryker and she appeared to be about 5'2" or so and she had the comfort cruise solo seat from Star and was reaching the ground very easily. She told me she had the rear section of the seat built up about 2" so that she would be able to reach the bars better. Only thing I didn't care for was she had the seat recovered in pink ostritch. I had left my phone at home or I would've gotten pics, sorry. But I told them about the forum so maybe they'll join up.

Hi shane,

You are right that I don't really want to go any higher. We have a local firm here in Preston who did my midnight star seat for me so I think I will take my stock seat and get him to build up the back and put some gel in the base to make it more comfortable. I need to ride a bit more first to see if I need it doing. At the moment I do sit far forward so can reach the bars easy but I tend to have to keep moving about as I slip back to the back rest.

yep, can't be safe to be moving in the saddle like that, i had 1" of foam removed and replaced with a gel pad, I really like the feel, I'm going to do the same with the Mustang seat, I have some lower back issues or I'd leave it like it is. But that gel sure does feel nice on the taint.
