Just curious if anyone has any experience good or bad with http://www.powersportparts.net/. Was looking to make a purchase but cannot seem to get them on the phone. I am wary about companies that hide behind voicemail and emails. The purchase I want to make is around $500 so I am being a bit cautious.

No. But in my option that is a pay to play organization and therefore their validity is in question. Too many reports of member who stop paying or refuse to pay suddenly get bad reviews or ratings. Same as yelp.

I gave up and calling them and finally emailed them on Friday They said their phones had been down since early Thursday and they had the phone company out at that moment. Email response was virtually instant and we traded a few emails. Gave me a bit more confidence as I deal with outages all the time working in IT and many small businesses do not have business continuity plans the first time it happens to them. I guess I will roll the dice with them and post my results.

There was a thread on here once before about them and the overall reviews were positive, keep in mind most of the aftermarket sellers have negotiated great deals with the actual manufacturers but do not actually stock the more expensive stuff that is bike specific so you will be at the mercy of the manufacturer

I had a bad experience with Power Sports Super Store. Don't know if they are affiliated with Power Sport Parts. I suspect they are.

They sent me a scratched up led license plate holder, emailed them about the problem. Took 24 hours to get back to me, then wanted pictures. Sent pictures and then 24 hours later they asked for clearer pictures. The ones I sent clearly showed the damage. I sent more pictures with a threat of filing a complaint with Amazon and posting bad reviews on Amazon and posting forums. 24 hours later they sent a much nicer email and said they would send me a return label before the close of business that day. I could send them the damaged part and they would send me a replacement.

Four days later I sent email asking where is my label. They said sorry, they would send a new part right away instead and gave me the tracking number of my previous order. I could keep the damaged one.

Several days later I get the replacement. It was more damaged than the first one was. Now I have two useless parts.

I filed a complaint with Amazon and got an instant gift card for the total of the transaction.

I purchased the same item from a different vendor. It arrived perfectly fine with no problems.

As I said, I don't know if they are affiliated with Power Sport Parts, but they are both located in Texas.

I personally will never deal with either of them, just in case they are affiliated.

My two cents

Sorry otrp you have a bad experience. They appear on the surface to be two different companies but who knows for sure. They could very well be fierce competitors or the same operating under different but similiar names. I purchased my cobra slip-on from Power Sports Super Store via Amazon last month. It arrived in perfect condition and arrived in two days which was totally unexpected. My transaction was flawless and based on that would not hesititate to buy from them again. As for Powersportparts.net they seemed to be very responsive via email although I never did speak to anyone. I got my order in less time than it was expected (back ordered) and it was factory sealed and in perfect condition. But it looks like I am going to make a return as it was not everything I had hoped for but that is because of the manufacturer not their fault. We will see how the returns process goes.

Well either way, I'll let you know how mine goes. Tracking says it should be here by Friday. Fingers crossed.
It should all be good. I think in my case it was a packaging issue. The hardware was floating around in the envelope loose and it nicked up the frame. A quick tape down of the hardware pack would have avoided the whole problem.

I just had a similar problem with Vance and Hines. Too many parts floating around not tied down in the box. Three pieces damaged. Waiting for replacements now.

I don't care much for Power Sports Superstore customer service, but as long as everything comes as it should, I would have no worries about your stuff. :)
