I don't even know what to tell you bro... heated grips are the bomb.

I live in Canada and its freakin' cold up here. Seriously, heated grips are absolutely incredible. I would never get a bike without them.

Everyone I know who has them would never go back. For some reason, toasty warm appendages make the whole body "feel" warm.

But that's just a feeling...

Here's the real deal: In cold weather your reflexes slow down, starting in your extremeties, like your fingers. Your fingers work your brake (!) and your clutch. If those two are slow, you are in trouble.

I've found that with heated grips, not only am I waaaay more comfortable, but I can actually hit the brake and clutch much more quickly in cool weather.

Heated grips are a no brainer and I've been riding for 25 years. I turn them on automatically ... if its a hot day, THEN I turn them off.

You will regret a lot in life: Women, stock trading, taking a swing at a cop.

You will NEVER regret buying heated grips. 8)

Tip: Hit the 'on' button while you are warming the bike up so that the grips are toasty hot when you get on. Otherwise you'll have cold hands before they warm up!

I have had the Oxfords on for about 6 weeks now and love them. Fairly easy install but the instructions are a little vague. I rode this morning with summer gloves and had them at 40%. Very comfy. Great way to extend the season without wearing snowmobile gloves.

I'm pretty much sold on the avon grips.... but I'd like to go heated!!!

As anyone got some pics and that would be great... a How To install heated grips!

:D
These are pretty easy to install - I put these on my FZ-09 recently. Three things to watch : (1) Only put the grip glue on one of the surfaces (on the handle), and you don't need too much on the throttle side (2) cover your bike well so the glue doesn't splash onto your tank (3) if you do get glue on your tank - nail polish remover will get rid of it with a bit of elbow grease without damaging your paint work, :D

How do they compare to the heated gloves?? I have those and love them, I thought with the heated grips the tops of my hands would freeze. You guys have me questioning my decision. Either way, I love the extended seasons!!

You are correct. In cold weather, the tops of your hands do get cold so you still end up with heavier gloves. I would have gone with gloves personally but the father in law searched for a long time to buy me something for the bike.

With my Avons I don't need thick gloves down to 45 or so which is my limit for comfortable riding anyway.
To me after that temp you need all the gear like chaps, thick coat etc. etc. and that isn't fun for me. I like to ride to the water and have a cocktail on it if at all possible and that needs higher temps :)
I do shoulder season rides here in Illinois but they are always less pleasant :(
To each their own...
