OK guys im new to this forum... It might seem like tooooo many questions at once, but I just dont want to be bugging you guys everyday with a new question. Ok this Saturday "hopefully" my new stryker is gonna be ready for me to pick up. Just wanted to know what would be the best speeds for gear shifting? i dont want to ride my new bike on 4th gear and sucking up all the gas, since the speedometer on the strykers dont have rpms right? Am I making sense? Also does anyone know how many more miles you can go once the "low gas" light comes out? Im sorry guys I just want to baby out my new bike, I want to take care of it as if it was one of my kids :p Once again Im sorry if Im asking too many questions. You guys have a fun and safe riding....

Welcome 99. I shift by sound so I can't tell you speeds. As far as the gas light goes I was told you had 30 miles once it comes on. I have never gone past 20 however.
Nice to have you on the forums and dont worry about the questions. But you should utilize the search option before asking the question. CYA

Welcome Saleen!

That bike has a lot of torque and it will feel very natural for you to know when to shift. You will understand what I mean after driving it few hours. It is strong as ****, but do not like to spin fast. You will really feel it if you rev it to high, probably the reason why there is not TAC on that beast.

What 11Stryker said but I'm a little more comfortable with 20 mph for 2nd and To be safe 20 miles on the gas I would not try 30. Oh and welcome to the forum from northern Ca. What part of Ca are you in?

Welcome to the forum from california too. You'll learn to shift by feel. I hardly ever look at the speedo except for when I get up to speed. And I try to never let my gas light come one. I'm from the sticks so if the light comes on I may not make it to a gas station. I usually will up when the last 0 is shown.

Welcome from RI, can't help you with speeds as I shift by sound (either switch out the stock pipes or drill out the baffles), as far as driving to E. I get around 120 miles before the light pops on, and can get up to 30 miles after the light, wouldn't advise going past 20. But I would advise driving it until empty, may sound stupid, but I like things to go wrong in a controlled way so I know exactly whats going to happen when it goes wrong in a bad way ;D. Guess I get that from my kayak background. If you practice things going wrong, when they actually do you not only know exactly what to do, but you also never go in to panic mode.

Welcome from Northern MN. The book has shift points. But, I found by listening to the bike the shift points are a little different. I'd be close to what 11stryker said. Also I know the book said when the you're down to one bar on the fuel gauge you have just over 1 gal left I believe. But, all they say when the light comes on is get gas soon. Real helpful. It's good to know that everyone else is saying at least 20 miles.
