will have to pick some of that stuff up. Got misted this weekend and had a hard time seeing out of my shield. I had to lift it up for a bit and had no glasses underneath so I was real concerned about something catching me in the eye. The rain-x would have made all the difference in the world.

Seriously, rain-x is not recommended for shields.
Really..huh.. didn't know that? Any reasoning why it isn't recommended?
The shields on modern full-face helmets have special anti fogging/scratch coatings...many cleaners like Windex for example will damage that coating. I would imagine that Rain-X may do the same.

Wish I would have known that, I use windex on my faceshield all the time and it does appear that I am now removing some coating on it and the visibility through the shield has become bad. I now need a new faceshield. What do you use to clean it so that the coating doesn't get harmed?

I get caught in rainy wet drizzly fog all the time. You guys probably know this, but if you turn your head to the side a bit it clears off the visor, then turn to the other. Obviosly it won't work well in heavy rain but for the lighter stuff it works pretty good.

I've heard good things about Honda Polish and Plexus Plastic Cleaner. Since i just picked up a new lid i'm gonna get one of these.

in the old days we used to use a little dish soap and wipe the mask with newspaper, it puts like a wax on their and the water just beeds ups and rolls off, not really sure about these newer helmets with the anti-fog, my new HJC has the anti fog and it works really well

on my plastic lenses on my led lights on my patrol car i use turtle wax to clean them off and i have noticed that the wax also helps keep them cleaner longer.. maybe this will work on helmet shields as well... dont really know.. i havent tried but of course i am like another poster on here... i only wear my lid when its cold or rainy.
