I’m changing out the front pulley wheel, dropping down to the 30 tooth that many of you have gone to. Problem I’m having is I can’t get the nut off. In the 2nd image you can see where the 2 white dots are the ring seems to be crimped which prevents it from turning. What do I need to do to get this off? I’m using a using a ½” socket wrench with 30mm socket and I have sandbags weighting down the rear break to prevent movement. I have not yet moved the rear axle or loosened the belt as I figure this would be the 2nd step after getting the pulley wheel nut loosened. If the answer is that I need an air-impact gun then I’m going to scrap the project and take it to a mechanic. Thanks

The short answer is that I ended up having to buy an impact gun for this mod. I don't think you'll ever get it loose otherwise. As for the crimped nut (ouch), I used a small screwdriver to essentially pop out the crimps and then recrimped it as best I could after.

Don't let the nut thing stop you. Whether you end up buying an impact wrench or taking it somewhere, you'll love the change.

That’s what I figured. Not going to mess with it, I’m just going to take it into the shop. They quoted me $50 to do the swap. I already have the 30 tooth wheel (cost me $200!). Thank you VERY MUCH fujums. I’ll report back after I get the mod done, plan to do a top-end speed run so I’ll let you know where that’s at.

yep, good deal and also a they'll set your belt tension so you'll be good for awhile on that, you're gonna love the added takeoff power, it's noticeable and all chugg disappears

Absolutely worth doing, you'll notice the increase in takeoff power immediately, you do lose some top end but its a cruiser and that's what I do

This was an 11Stryker original and is easily the best performance mod for the money as far as I'm concerned. Then again, I got my pulley off of eBay for $40. Even at retail for the pulley, it is totally worth it and something you'll wish you had done sooner.
