I am at a cross road with moding my bike and I was wanting to get ya'll option on this.

The first one is a explosion theme. Where the tank and plastic covers will look like it is cracking with fire in the cracks. The fenders will have smoke close to the engine and dissipating as it goes out. Then it will have red lights under the tank, fender, and air intake.

The second is a Tron theme. The bike will be mostly blacked out with lights in the same places but there will be a circle light on the front fender and halo on the headlight. The rear fender will have a 3 in wide strip going from under the seat down to the taillight.

The flame thing sounds cool but flames on bikes have been overdone IMO. A Tron bike would be quite a head turner especially on a cruiser.

I really dig the explosion idea, also like that it's timeless. I worry that the Tron theme might seem cheesy with time. That's not a criticism, just a concern to think about.

As an EOD tech you should definitely go with the explosion.

I would think the same. I know my hubby was thinking of Avatar for a theme for his bike or dragons. I said the same thing, it might get old after a while. But, its your bike and you should not ask for our opinion since you might be just as confused afterwards. Do what you want and surprise us. :nod:

Trust me J4patrice I dont think I can be anymore confused. With the tron bike it is alot simplier of a paint job bc all I will have to do is repaint the tank gloss black and the lights on the fender is a thing call EL Tape. So if I get tired of it I can just take them off. Where as the explosion I have to send it all in and then I am kinda stuck with it.

Then I guess what you have to decide is easier, and I assume cheaper, or more difficult/expensive. I know its a tough choice, but the final call is yours.

Personally Tron is more of a fad. The reason there have been flames & will continue to be flames is they are timeless. The artwork of the flame has developed over the years for the classic fifties look through the tribal to so real you might actually believe the bike is on fire.
You may want to consider your long term plans for the bike. Do you plan on keeping it forever or selling & taking on a new project some day. If you plan to sell, what would sell.
It is your ride and ultimately your choice & your money. Either way I look forward to seeing the finished product. Good luck.

Tron is a fad? From when? The 80s? I was never into Tron, and from what I remember about it, I think that theme would lend itself better to a street bike. The explosion theme as I read it isn't just a flame job.. cracks.. smoke.. fire... sounds great. But what do I know.. I like skulls, and everyone says they are played out too... Lol
