I have an HID kit in mine. I get a little better light output but not nearly as good as I would with a proper retro-fit (HID projector). The light output is scattered when using an HID kit in a halogen reflector housing so you will have to re-aim your headlight to make sure you are not blinding oncoming traffic. Unfortunately this also means that you will end up lowering the actual area you are lighting up. For me this was fine because I use a dual beam HID kit. When there is a car around me, even with the lower / shorter field of view, I still have plenty of light. And as soon as the car(s) are gone I kick on my high beam and I have PLENTY of view. I will eventually get a proper projector but it is on the back burner for now.

Thank you for your honest oppinion. I appreciate that. When you say retro-fit (HID projector), do you mean a whole new housing that is designed for a projector headlight like those in cars or am I off-track?

If you are looking for more light output I'd recommend the Phase 7 LED headlight by kuryaken. Wicked bright and excellent spread. Looks cool and draws less power too.

This is a nice looking light. Now all I have to do is find a housing that it will fit in since it doesn't look like the Stryker's headlight bucket is big enough.

The spending never ends.... :D
