Did not know where I needed to ask this question but I was wondering if anyone burns 93 octane gas in their Stryker. If you do is there an advantage to this? I have done this several times and I don't seem to notice any differance. Please advise if anyone knows anything on this topic.:D

Beating a dead horse there... so many threads with all different answers.. some say they get better mpg on a certain octain, some say nothing is different, some say less ethanol in higher grades...

my opinion which may be worth nothing, the manual says regular is fine but higher grade doesnt hurt.. I normally put mid grade in mine because in my area its only .1 cents more than regular so spending 30cents more a fillup isn't going to break the bank, and I can be right in the middle lol

regular 87 will burn slower thus giving you better gas mileage as the manual says. I've put on 12,000 in the last 2 yrs on mine switching from 87 and 93 and doesnt make a difference. Getting between 45 and 50 mpg.

Do what I do, run it empty. put in 2 gal of 93 octane because it doesnt have ethanol and 2 gal of 110 turbo blue race fuel. It will go like a rapped ape and smells f$cking awesome too.

I swear my bike rides better on lower than higher octain.

It does! and is supposed to. Only thing higher octane does is prevent pinging and possible detonation on higher Compression Ratio engines.

We run regular in ours and they run fine. We have found that mileage is controlled more by how much/hard you twist that throttle then anything. I am getting pretty good at letting her idle along on the downhill stretches of the mountain road to conserve fuel without lugging the engine, I just kick her down a gear when I need to accelerate. Pretty soon I will be as good as toby is at stretching a gallon of gas up here ;)
we do all right on the open highway/freeway... 45 to 50 mpg

Trying to figure out what "rapped age" is.

Ive put 1600 miles on my stryker all miles have been with 93 octane, it runs fine why try something better where i am at its 12 bucks to fill up. It beats filling up my Jeep with cost 70 bucks. I dont how some guys are getting crazy gas mileage though. Im averaging 39.6-40 on country roads with stop lights and maybe a little around town. on the high way I roll at about 80 and get 44ish.... Ohh ps put some seafoam in your tank it will keep it running smooth....magic in can

It's not so much high octane as ethanol free. The later is way more important. I don't care what anyone says. Ethanol is not good for any engine. Gums up carbs and does not burn clean. Same goes for lawn mowers, chain saws, weed whackers etc. All the bikers I know will NOT burn any gas with ethanol in their bikes.

Good link sscottab. Putting high octane fuel in in our bikes is simply a waste of money...unless you have engine mods that require a higher octane. It's a old argument that somehow continues to this day. Higher octane does not = higher performance.

Unfortunately we don't have an option here. All our gas has ethanol in it. Wish we did, as you're right, causes all kinds of problems, mostly due to the fact that ethanol absorbs water. This combined with the fact that fuel with ethanol contains more oxygen which cause the fuel to go "stale" quicker leading to fuel system gumming and varnish problems. Typically gas with ethanol will start to go stale in as little as 30 days!

rapped ape, rocket ship, knuckle hugger, go fast, squealing donkey, burning rubber, mother truckin, lip flapping, speeds that will make you juice up a blade of grass and make a pane of glass sweat, sole burning, neck snapping kind of feeling that you dread the withdrawl from !
