Hi guys,

I've been trying to find info about the raider rear pulley. I wanna know if it fits the stryker bolt-on, uses the same belt length and width? I suppose to solve the belt length you simply buy a raider belt? I learned through this forum that the raider pulley has 66tooth instead of the 70 of the stryker. I know it's weird to change the rear pulley which will decrease my rear wheel ratio but I really want my bike to rev lower at higher speed. Anyone tried or did it to his bike yet?

I never tried it, but I would be afraid to do it. The raider as 1800cc ...therefore more power. So I guess they calculated that output when they designed the pulley.

Let us know if you try it out.

Not the rear as of now. But the front pulley was changed out to the Raider one by 11Stryker.
Hmmmm.... interesting! So the belt is the same for the stryker and the raider! Soooo... if they are the same I can basically put the raider rear pulley without modding at all! It should bolt right on. I'm gonna go ahead and try it.

I think it's safe to think that if 11Stryker changed is front pulley for a raider one and got a 70tooth stryker pulley, I should approx have the same ratio difference with the front stryker pulley and a 66tooth rear raider pulley? So a final ratio of a little less then stock?

Sounds too simple... there's prob a trap. Whatever, I'm set to try this out! 8)

OK slow down guys LOL, I switched to the Vstar 1300 front pulley which has 1 less tooth than the Stryker. The rear Pulley could be switched to the Raider and Change the belt also, But to change the belt you have to remove swingarm. Also Raider has a wider belt than the Stryker and is different length. I am sure that you would not like the Raider pulley on the Stryker. Way to much ratio change and Chugging would be Ginormous.

Thanks for your intput 11Stryker.

I read the post about your switch and I though you wrote the belt was the same for the stryker and raider. My bad!

I was thinking 4 tooth less could be a big ratio decrease but I cannot find the dimensions difference between a stryker pulley and a raider pulley to make the math. The thing is that one tooth on a small pulley makes a big difference but 4 tooth on a bigger pulley could make about the same or a little more difference in ratio. I would really like to find a way to make the gear wider since I really like the low rev sound of a v-twin plus it would feel better on long ride to let the engine rev maybe 500rpm less.

You guys have any other idea?

Lower rpm's at higher speed

Has anyone tried to change out the front pulley on a Raider with more teeth/larger pulley so that the bike will rev lower at higher mph?

I would like my Raider to rev lower at higher speeds as well and was wondering if you had changed out your stock pulleys yet. By changing the front pulley to one with more teeth or by changing the rear pulley to one with less/smaller diameter the bike should turn lower rpm's at high speed.. In my opinion the bike needs another gear like a 6th OD like dare I say HD has on there bikes.

Not sure about belt fitting(wider pulley should be OK) but I seem to remember service manager saying something like 1 tooth on the front pulley = 4 on rear. Memory is foggy so I'd see if there are any web articles doing the math for you.

Although as I type this I think I have up and down reversed.
If you have the stock 31 tooth front pulley and get a smaller rear pulley the chugging in low gears will be tremendous and require a lot of clutch feathering. Over time I think the clutch wear will be expensive :(

I'll just put the question here since it's about rear pulley and it has been establish that the raider pulley is a no go for the stryker.

So my question is, if the vstar 1300 rear pulley would fit the stryker?

Probably not. Different wheel size on the VStar1300. Not sure of the pulley mounting configuration.

I ask cause I have been looking for a stryker chrome pulley for the longest time now and somebody offered me a chrome v-star pulley saying since the stryker and the vstar have the same engine, it probably have the same pulley as well.

The problem is the moment I try to install it he wont take it back that is why I have to be sure first.

I just looked at the part # for both bikes and if I did everything right the part #'s are identical

My two cents...... if you decrease the circumference on the rear pulley you will be effectively requiring more revs of the engine at lower speeds. that is the mod made by 11Stryker (which is smaller in the front) actually reduced the revs but at the same time did not increase the chugging effect. Think of it as a bicycle, where the smaller the pulley back vs the front the less revs you need to peddle to match the speed of the rear wheel.

Anywho.... if you guys try something different and it actually works, please point me in the direction of the "word eating"buffet :) cheers and safe ridding.

You got something backwards there my friend and wrong at the same time. The 1 less tooth on the front did get rid of the 30mph chugging. and It increases the revs from stock front pulley to go the same speed.

Here's the story to make it all clear.

I know somebody who is selling a RC Component pulley that is compatible with the Vstar 1300
Wheel Rim Alloy wheel Auto part Automotive wheel system

you just have to change the pulley bolt. I told him that I am looking for a Stryker Pulley in chrome, he said that since the Stryker and the V-star 1300 share the same engine maybe it has the same pulley.

That is the reason I post it here to try to find out if it is really the same. 11Stryker said it is probably different since the rear wheel of the vstar and the stryker are different. But Raul said (and I checked myself) indeed the Stryker and the V-star has the same part number for the Rear Pulley. Same Part number = same pulley.

So if that is the case then the RC Component Rear Pulley that is compatible with a lot of harleys out there and compatible to v-star 1300 is compatible with the stryker. It also means that we can take advantage of the vast number of harleys aftermarket pulley because they are the same as the stryker we just have to change the bolts.

Here are the list of all the Harleys and Yamaha compatible with the pulley
