Ok here's a strange one that has me scratching my head. I had tried out a steibel horn for a while using a relay but after some changes to the bike I just couldn't hide the larger horn, so I went to a hella model and tucked it into the chin scoop...all was working fine then nothing. I had made a connection at the aux in the headlight for my amp setup but saw nothing that would create the problem.

Now the fun part. when the button is pressed Meter shows 3.65 volts off the original horn leads with everything else bypassed. So here I am scratchin my head wondering what condition would or could cause this...normally I'm pretty decent with figuring things out...but this one has me thinking.

Any ideas?

sounds like you have something hooked up inline to it, causing have a voltage drop. I would check the voltage at both sides of the switch and see what you have there. if its the same then check at the fuse. Then you will know where the voltage drop occurs and you can check that wire.

everything worked fine after everything was installed, just stopped working. I can't even come up with an idea that would create that kind of situation is the thing. Having a voltage drop like that isn't something easily done.....just strange.

I'm truely stuck, guess I'm going to have to talk to the dealer and see if they have any ideas.

Well stuck no more...not sure why but I went back and disconected my led turns and popped the fuse in the process...replaced the fuse and left em disconnected and bingo horn is fine....So I have to go back and look at what I did wrong with the wiring and see what short was created...I'm only using two wires off the turns so I think I must have missed something...or the third wire shorted.

Anyway not sure why the odd voltage was there but most certainly was tied to the lights...strange but true.

If anyone knows or happens to know...I'm reading low constant voltage on the brown and black turn signal wires...the blue is constant for running lights...but just wondering if this is normal to see power on the two for the turns...when the turn signal is on you get the expected 12v on and off...but without it on I'm reading a constant low voltage on the black and brown.

Just trying to understand this because I wouldn't expect to see any.

If my memory serves me right, the stock wiring is a 3-wire circuit, constant voltage for running lights, blinker and a ground.

Did you install the Drugz circuit for the front LEDs This allows the LEDs to run as running lights (low voltage) then when the blinker is on the voltage returns to normal ( 12V on and off). This will also utiliize all three inputs from the bikes wiring harness and cross it over into a two wire output for the LEDs..

If you didn't use the Drugz circuit you one have one option, either running lights or as blinkers.

Man I hope that did confuse anyone...lol...

I am running an led rear..forgot about bleed back and no I'm not running anything else inline...I totally forgot about the leds being in the tail causing issues....that's where the problem is coming from....I knew there was something I was forgetting to do. Thanks for the help guys...guess my brain blocked it out.
