How much would you all think it would cost for the removal of the stock decal and painting the tank, side covers and the fenders hotrod flat black? I think this is the color I'm gonna go with and do some old school pinstriping also.

500 to 1000 depending on where you go and how much of the teardown you want to help with. Painting my tank cost 250.00, but I took it off, and washed it out before painter got it.

I think that would be very interesting look. Can't wait to see how it looks. There was a Harley at the show that was flat black. Looked dang good. Go for it.

To fix 2 dents in my tank & a cracked side cover then paint black base with red pearl in the clear cost me $500. I did all the teardown & assembly. I did get quotes as high as $1500 so shop around & try to watch what comes in their shop & what it looks like when it leaves

You could do it yourself for cheaper if you have a compressor.

If you go here it will be the hot rod black. It is a single stage paint and if you get a run or some trash in it you can just wet sand it out and lay another coat. This is what the street rods are using due to the fact that it is non porus the way primer is.

I primed my son's 74 Camaro with EPOXY PRIMER SURFACER/SEALER in my garage (sorta paint booth) & it came out really nice. 1st time using my HVLP gun. 5 years later it was still in the same primer & still looked good. We sold the car & have seen the new owner at the drags & is still sporting my primer job.

I never primed the front because we were always playing with the motor, built 468ci BBC
