I can not figure out how to get that nut off to mount it to the axle. Can someone please help me.
I just had my side mount plate installed last night. Like Natdog said you have to remove the entire axle. I had the dealer do it for me, because I didn't want to screw up anything. Good thing too. The axle on mine was very difficult to remove for some reason and they had to remove the slip on section of the exhaust so the could hammer the axle out. It looks great now. Was worth it. Tomorrow I'm getting all that crap cut out under the brake light.Schimbo said:I can not figure out how to get that nut off to mount it to the axle. Can someone please help me.
Makes sense. Pls don't notch and do itbthe right way guys!!! Take that axle outta there!!!!Straightjacket said:I would be carefull of notching the bracket,[size=16pt] if it did come loose and fall off you'd have a bit of play in the rear wheel. Also if you get an axle mount make sure you have thread ingagement with the nylock portion of the nut! Loosen the nut on the right side of the bike, not the left side, and if you have to hammer out the axle use something softer like alluminum so you don't bugger the threads. The bike needs to be supported while you do this make sure it's stable. Just sayin.
