Kind of a silly question because it looks pretty obvious, but I just want to be sure... I bought a used boulevard windshield with the brackets already attached, but no bolts to mount it to the bike. Do I just use the bolts that are already in my bike? Do I need any spacers? Would I need longer bolts if spacers are needed? Thanks!

looks like your going to the hardware store..the spacer fits into the where the original bolt was removed then sticks out from 3/8 to 1/2 then the windshield mount then the new longer bolt holds it all together..keep all cables inside the mounts.

Rules for installing a Boulevard Windshield

1. Buy a 12 pack - it does not have to be Lite beer.
2. Drink half and play some rock....NO Beatles, you will fall asleep
and there is no one there to finish the job for you.
3. Never put your beer down while working your screws, nuts and
bolts.
4. Close one eye, mount it, screw it and walk away with both hands
up!

Here are some overhead pictures from behind the windshield. The bolts that I have are 1" in length and the spacer measures 3/8" in length. The spacers I imagine will be difficult to find at a hardware store so I would definitely go back to who sold you the windshield and ask for them otherwise a trip to the dealer maybe in order. Good Luck.

You can buy hardened washers online or at a store such as Fastenal. They are around 5/16" thick and black anodized. Bolts or screws could be found at same store also. This is what my Son did to mount his Boulevard.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies guys! What a great site! The windshield was an ebay deal that I bought over the winter. Now that the dealer has delivered the bike I just noticed the bolt issue. Looks like I'll be heading to the hardware store.

Strykeback: I really appreciate the pics!

11Stryker: I was just checking out the pics in the gallery of your sons bike - sweet ride!

I gave my Son my original Boulevard windshield and so he had to make his own brackets and had to find fasteners also like you.
