Hoping someone can guide me in the right direction here. I have a set of speakers that I would like to wire into my bike. The speaker has a black wire and a red wire. I have hooked them directly to the batter red to positive and black to negative to test and they work fine. Now I want to wire it in with a switch to turn it on and off. I have a switch and a wire fuse, can anyone tell me how I would go about wiring this so that it only comes on and off with the switch? I am confident that I can do this but just not sure of the exact way to run these wires.

Speakers connected to the battery????????

The switch can be anywhere in line, any color. It is nothing more than a pair of scissors that cut the wire or connect the wire.

Thanks, so since it doesnt matter which wire the switch goes on, what is the standard? On the positive or negative side. I assume the fuse would go between the battery and the switch?

LOL, Speakers have built in amps, so I guess its the amp directly connected to the battery. From my point of view I am only dealing with the speakers so they are directly connected.

Not to be different, but I usually switch the hot because if you were to get a short in the ground before the switch, your load would always be on. If you wire the switch on the hot side, and it shorts, your load would not turn on.

Usually you put your fuse as close to the battery as possible, therefore if there is a short it will most likely occur in the run of wire after the fuse and your fuse would protect your battery and bike from starting on fire. I have seen cars completely go up in flames from not fusing car amplifiers and the batteries shorting and causing enough current flow to cause red hot metal and flammables ignite.

Do yo have a link to the speakers you have? I have been debating doing a set on my bike but I can't find a good set that will work and look good
I will post up all the information once I have it completed and satisfied. I just dont want to recommend if it is no good, but it is a bluetooth set of speakers with built in 50 watt amp, kinda like the sound of chrome but half the price and bluetooth music from the phone or 3.5mm jack.

Wire it to the brown wire in the headlight instead of the batt. Key on power only.
Been a year since i was in that bucket. Is the brown wire the hot running lights wire?

Also, Anyone know where I can get a 1inch handlebar lighted switch. Can't seem to find one for 1 inch bars.

Is that the extra plug in the bucket, just tying to figure out where I find the brown wire.
