My brother(very butthurt cause my Styker is way cooler) claims that his 696cc Ducati Monster gets more hp(80) than my 1300cc Stryker. How is this possible?

Its a sportbike and their engines are setup differently. Its peak hp is also at a much higher rpm than ours. The bikes are engineered to be different beasts and excel at different things, enjoy them both for what they are. **** he could ride a moped and get my respect because he RIDES. 8)

Can't fault a guy for knowing what looks cool either... rofl.

BHP is only one variable. You need to factor in torque. On the sport bike you are constantly revving in the high end.
Cruisers are torque beast, more grunt in the lower range.

what's the stock hps on a stryker? the retarded yama website doesn't list hp or torque under the specs.

at 5600 rpm 67.6 hp; maximum torque of 75.0 ft-lb at 3700 rpm

I believe I read somewhere the Stryker is around 67 to 77 hp. The Ducati only gets that much hp when it hits 9,000 rpm and I think only 40 hp at at around 4,500rpm And the Stryker is already putting out closer to 60 hp at that rpm but don't tell your brother cause you don't wont to buthurt him anymore, do ya?
I'm not sure of the exact figures but I'm sure someone on this forum will get them for us.

I think that 80 hp was a special supped up model of the 696cc for racing that Ducati advertised in 2006

Haha, I have a friend that I have been riding with for years who has a VTX 1800. When we went down to Biketoberfest, we parked at J&P cycles and all morning people stopped and looked at my bike and ignored his (the VTX is a fine bike but the road is just full of them). He told me he was "officially tired" of people staring at my bike wherever we go! I told him wait till I get the pipes on it!
