how to properly paint chrome plastic

So im looking to paint over the vast majority of chrome on the bike. Having never done this before i was hoping for some advice on how to do it right.

I'd get some light sand paper or a foam sanding block and scuff it up a little bit before you spray. That will ensure a better hold.
