To remove the Gas Cap Accent you muct slide a putty knife under the Accent piece to separate the 2 sided tape

Tools Required:
Putty Knife (plastic or metal)
Masking Tape (to protect the blade from damaging the tank

You will need to remove the Gas Cap

Then slide the putty knife under the Accent Piece. The 2 sided tape is on both sides front and back.

Once removed, the tape is taken off with either goo gone, or if your lucky you can just roll it off with your fingers.

I took tank bling off of my raven and found the seam most talk about pretty insignificant. The only that notices it is me. Looks a lot better with it off.

Put your bike in the sun for an hour and use a blow dryer on high and fishing line would be my recommendation and don't get in a hurry. Not a big deal to me but I used a heat gun and distorted the plastic

Took me 45min to remove the plastic and tape with goo gone. That was in a 60F garage without a heat gun. Looks sooo much better now and i can barely see the seam.

Eh, it kinda looks old school.. i don't mind. I do plan on getting it powder coated though but i'm going to get details on what prep work i need to do on multiple pieces before i start stripping them down. I'm thinking of coating pretty much everything that's chrome that i can remove.

I don't mean the gas cap. I mean how high it sits from the tank.

Sorry, i rambled, but i was originally talking about the raised gas cap as well. I've seen old school gas tanks with a raised opening for the cap like that.. maybe it was mostly on farm vehicles and i'm memories are blending together? either way it looks ok to me.
