To remove the side covers you will need to remove 2 bolts. 1 per side.
the left side (key side) is held on by a T-27 Torx.

Tools Required:
T-27 Torx
#5 Allen Key
Phillips Screw Driver

once the bolt is removed, you will have to use a Phillips Screw Driver to remove the lock mechanism from the cover.

The right side is removed using the #5 allen key.

Once the bolts are removed you will need to slide the covers toward the front of the bike then lift off.
