I have the same one. Clar do you have the vaccuume lines hooked up? What are your thought of the operation of the butterfly valves?

Yes the vacum line is hooked up , my thought is it's ass backwards when the bike is off the butterfly is open should be closed, it just flutters more than anything so the butterfly it sellf is usless as far as function is concerned .
When I think of butterflys should be like a hotrod closed until you twist the throttle.
I'm very happy with the looks and performance of the intake ,the butterflys are usless.

My thoughts exactly. I had them hooked up for about 5 minutes, and thought to myself... These SUCK!!...lol.. I ended up disconnecting them and just leaving in the open position. I would like to figure out a way to reverse it, but just don't have time now.

WOW I was looking at this one and one of the reasons was the butterflys opening up as I reved up the motor. So they basically just sit there in the open position and then close when you turn the throttle and the intake sucks in the air?

They don't really close, they kinda flutter. This is basically what they look like.

Its just an aftermarket air filter. Folks usually love it or hate it with no middle ground. Like others have said on this site, you can change the breather OR the exhaust and still be ok. I have to agree with that statement as well, considering I finally warmed up my bike the other day and it definitely needs a tuner now after changing out both. I will say that it does whistle a bit, which annoys me :(
