How about a bigger bike, oh... that is probably not the answer you are looking for ;)

Seriously though, why do people buy a bike that they want so much more out of? Why not buy that from the get go. Doesn't make alot of sense to me. I understand the modding and making it yours as I have this bug also but to try and get 38 more HP out of the motor, I would have just bought the bigger bike. Much cheaper in the long run.

Is it the sleeper effect? Your bike will be faster than anyone expects it to be?

Sorry, Not trying to rain on your parade just trying to understand the motivation.

Well looking back I should have just went with the raider. The stryker was my first bike. So I thought 1300cc was enough. After a month it wasnt. Thus came the initial mods which keep satisfied until recently. So yes I want more power, but at this point I love the way my murdered out stryker looks. I have invested to much time and money on it and do not want to start all over again with a new bike. And yes, the SLEEPER effect is also cool.

That being said, what can I do?

Where does the Sleeper Effect come into play!!! Almost everyone that has walked over to see my bike cannot believe that it is only a 1300. Even most the HD duds think it is a modded Raider with a 1900. The bike is long and raked out at 41*. In no way is the bike seen as a sleeper unless another Stryker owner sees it and doesnt know Jack Didley about the mods that are attached to it!!

LOL... I believe you are right. The bike just looks badass so the sleeper effect doesnt really work with this bike. ;)

The power to wieght ratio of this bike is really good. If you can get 79 HP out of it even better. That is the equivelant of a camaro with 450 HP at the rear wheels.
Agreed, but part of that includes a visually different Air Cleaner, and Audibly louder exhaust. Adding a Turbo or Blower or Nitrous would be visual also. About all that could be hidden is programmer, cam, or overbore.

The bike has plenty of power for me. But coming from a crotch rocket to the Stryker I do sometimes miss the adrenaline rush of more power. But I think I have that worked out. I plan on buying a Busa as a second bike. ;D

Easiest thing at this point would be to port the heads, match the trottle bodies to the intake and port the intake and exhaust manifolds. You can do all of that for about a grand without an issue. It's all about combusting that fuel man. The smoother the air gets in and out of ur motor with a high volocity the better it will burn.

Actually, I am also looking at a second bike as an option and the BUSA is on the top of my list.

I will take this recommendation to the local tunning shop. Let's see what they quote me. any idea what type of HP gain I will have?

I think that if your really trying to hit the 100HP, your going to find out that it will still be cheaper to sell and trade up. By the time you get it up to 100 HP, and that is if you can. I don't think you will. You can try boring out the heads and going larger pistons. The cost won't make sense. Your bike will still be worth the same amount as everyone else and we wouldn't have invested that kind of money in ours. Its like someone who owns a 71 Trans Am, has 20,000 into it and is asking 25,000. Its lost money.

I see this with cars and bikes, never really understood it either...look its called start with the right platform, don't waste your time and money on trying to make any bike produce x hp. If you want a performance bike then buy one, I own multiple bikes and cars...in the end your just way better off.

Its all about matching your pleasure with the right stock...What exactly would you be doing with 100 that you can't with 80? I think what I'm just trying to point out is going after numbers is a costly way to go about motorsports in general...and isn't this your first bike? Don't be in such a hurry...all things in time...if you want to scare yourself..jump on the busa wagon and hang on...that will fix ya.

When I was younger I loved the idea of taking what you have and making it as powerful as possible without changing the stock appearance much. Now I just want something that's kind of fast looks good and will last a long time. But if you don't care how long it will last here is what you can do to get over 140 hp out of the 1304cc. Full race cams, already has roller rockers, Increase port size of intake and exhaust and valves, Bore the cylinders as far as they can be bored, put 12 to 1 high compression pistons in it,change the exhaust pipes, hyper charge the intake, add nitro bottles and map the fuel infection system, change the gear ratio and you should pull low 9s in the quarter mile maybe even high 8 ts. Oh ya probably need a wheely bar and much more rubber too. Have no idea what that would cost in these days. Does any one?
