Before I start tearing into this with how I "think" it should come off, can anyone offer any tips or instructions on how best to remove the chrome ignition switch cover. Obviously anyone that's taken it off may have figured out an easy way or best way for removal. Looking at the schematic from the service manual leaves a lot to be desired in what's actually holding it on there.

I've got the speedo cover painted with Plasti-Dip. I personally like it better than the chrome for the look I'm going for. Has anyone tried painting over the Plasti-Dip? Just to try and get a color closer to the frame and handlebar color?

Yea those wire looms were the pain for reinserting cause the screws kept falling off the tip before I got it in :D
That's what he said! :wink::D

Thanks, I thought that's all that is holding it on. I just didn't want to go through the pain of removing something that wasn't even holding it in place

A long Phillips screw driver will be your friend here. Use a flashlight to peek behind the cover to see the screw heads from each side of the bike. You may have to push the wire looms around to see the screw heads.
