Yeah, I bought a heated vest from a friend and it works pretty good. The downside is that you are tied to an umbilical cord that must be removed when you dismount or else you're gonna drag your bike with you. Also, there is the controller, which adjusts the temp, and it is somewhat bulky. I have only used the vest once so far but it kept me quite toasty. The weather was in the low 50s so it wasn't really cold but cold enough with the windchill. I was wearing a flannel shirt, the vest and a leather jacket. Not sure how it will work at 40 degrees but I will soon find out. It's a Tourmaster brand. Anyone else have any experience with heated gear ?

I also bought battery operated gloves and I love them !!!! I've used them on 32 degrees without any issues... the cool thing about them is that you can use them all the time even when you are not in the bike, especially in the mornings when you have to scrape the frost from your car's windshield. I bought them on sale at a local honda dealer for $150

Check them out at http://www.mobilewarminggear.com/MW/product_gloves.php? ref=MWG11M01
