I posted most of this under what I did for my Stryker today, but thought I'd also start a separate thread to keep track of updates moving forward. I've had a lot of crappy ideas as far as changes to the bike style-wise and I guess I've settled on some stuff that hopefully won't be crappy when it's done.

Among other things......

I've been working on a pair of upper and lower fork wraps. The uppers are the ones with the eyelets that have the word Stryker on them. I made them a little smaller than the circumference of the fork so they'd show a bit of the lacing in back against the chrome. Kind of like a corset or something. I cut them the length of the upper fork without the OEM turn signal bracket. I figured that the OEM's would be going sometime this winter and just have to settle on what it is that I'm doing there exactly.

The lower wrap is designed to blend the lower fork into the spiked fork caps I've been using. I've wanted to cover up the set screws and axle nut stuff for a while and thought I'd give this a shot.In addition to the word Raven, I threw a wing on the side to tie them into the seat I made which has the same bird as the speedo faceplate Nyjol did for me.

The parts look cool on the table, but I'll have to see how they look on the bike. If they look like ****e on the bike, then I'm going with the black adhesive vinyl wrapping I bought for the job originally.

I also bought some silver rim tape that I hope to get on this weekend. I'm frankly expecting that one to be a real ***** and have been dreading it honestly. I bought the stuff a while back, so I guess it's time to wrestle it onto the bike to see what it looks like.

I was looking at doing fork wraps in leather. I made some with marine grade vinyl but I have braided my levers, so I think leather fork wraps will look good.

I too am looking forward to seeing what they look like laced up

I got a chance to put the seat and fork wraps on and take a few pics today. Unfortunately, my sister had some stuff in the way and I could only get pics at certain angles. I keep my bike in her heated garage for free, so what the ****, I can't complain too much about how much room I get.

The seat looked good and I am happy with it. I had done it a little differently at first and hated it, so I was pretty relieved that the changes turned it around. I'm undecided on the wraps and will give them some time to grow on me. I'm not a big displayer of logos and advertising on my cars, clothes, etc., so the word Stryker in silver was a bit of an eye poker. One way or another I'm going with the wraps, but may black out the words if I can't live with the silver. We'll see. I haven't finished making the lower fork wraps yet, so no pics of those.

To answer Jester's question, I basically cut the design in the leather and then stamped down the areas around the raven. I'm simplifying, but that is the basic process.

I just noticed you do not have your front fender on. Is this the way you ride it? I took mine off of my 650 custom I used to have and liked it better that way. Have been debating on taking the fender off of my Stryker.

No, I'm a fender guy. The bike is just in a "parts are gonna get painted eventually" stage. I bought the L&M front fender and radiator cover and need it to warm up so I can get them done. ;)

i was looking for a way to cover them and was trying to see if i can locate any plastic pieces that i can either get in the same color of black or just paint them but I think i like the whole leather look better.. but of course if I do this I will not be stealing your idea with the Stryker on them.

I personally pay no attention to the notion that copying someone else's mods is prohibited and have no problem with anyone using my stuff dude. Plus, a lot of the stuff we all come up with has been done elsewhere on other bikes many times over.

Wth that in mind, I have two pairs of leather fork wraps laying around and would be happy t sell one to you if you're interested. I have the Stryker pair from the pics that I didn't end up using. These are longer and require the removal of the turn bracket. I have another plain black pair that will fit with the stock turns.

All that said, I can make a pair for you or anyone else that is interested for $35 shipped. I did a pair for Tonto and he posted some pics also if you want to check his out.
