Hi guys,

purchased my new 2013 stryker about a month and a half ago and am pretty new to the world of motorcycles. just a straight up noob but want to change that with time.

Thinking of installing vance and hines big radius 2 into 2, low and mean black spike air filter and the fuel tuner as well. One problem I do not have all the money to do all of these at once. WOuld it be okay to start with either the air filter or the exhaust first, and then two the remaining one with the tuner?Would it my bike in a negative way if I only install the exhaust first and later down in about a month install the air filter and the tuner?

thanks for your time.

If this is your first bike or first bike in a while...I would just ride it around stock for a while to make sure that this is what you want to do. some people buy a bike and figure this is not for them after spending all kinds of Money.... Save up and if this is you , then do it all at one time.
Pipes
air intake
auto tuner.

Dont mess around with the shortcuts on some stuff .

There is a thread already regarding this topic. If I remember correctly, you can change the exhaust only and not need a tuner, and you can change your air intake only also and not need a tuner. If you do both, you'll need a tuner. Don't quote me on this. Just search for it.:(

Screw going to the dealer! There is a wealth of knowledge on this website if you just browse around looking for it. I would suggest going for the exhaust first, the bike has plenty of power already but has a piss poor sound from the factory so giver her some bark. It is also easy to install the exhaust yourself and save some cash, just be careful with the location of the clamps when you are installing them and you should be good to go.

My opinion is change the exhaust first. You will improve the look and sound both at once. When you do the big air intake you will then need to do the tuner at the same time.

That's exactly what I did and I had no problems. I went with the v&h big radius, then installed the Kury Hypercharger and Cobra autotuner....had zero issues with any of these mods. Good luck on it.

I am glad i found this post as I am interested in doing the same set up as well on my stryker. I dont mean to hijack but what do you guys think is better the cobra or the low and mean big air intake? Im 100% sure im going with the vance and hines big radius, but now im window shopping as to what the best air intake option would be for my bike when paired up with this exhaust..opinions?

It all depends on taste and budget. Personally I think the Low and Mean products are ridiculously over priced and I'm not a big fan of the spikes. I have the Cobra Powrflo and think it looks pretty **** good. They all work the same so it's pretty much up to you. I hope this kind of helps. :(

The cobra tuners work for everything. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra on the PowrPro with autotune. That way you won't have to spend more money on getting it tuned properly. Yes a 'preset' tune will get you going, but a custom tune is always your best bet. Plus with the autotune, regardless of weather condition (air temp, humidity, etc) it will always be tuned correctly for the weather.
