Thats correct exact fit. the r-1 feabay cover was harder to revove I ended up cutting and breaking it off but that dident matter , the stock cover I baked @ 110 for 7 min, and with some force it poped right off.immortal13 said:So clar2001....let me get this right. The R-1 cover fits the stock lamp exactly? If so, that's great. That will save me some $!!
OEM factory taillight $45 ,I looked up the cost before I did it incase it dident work, megabuddys said:funny when I mentioned doing this for people MONTHS ago, nobody was interested.
pssh.
$175 is ridiculous. For that much you can do it yourself, mess up, have to buy a new Factory tail light, and its still cheaper.
I was thinking like $100.
yes they blink at a normal rate some on here recommend a stabilizer I used a equalizer.was only $16.95The_Joker said:Clar
So with the signal stabilizer the blinkers are at a normal speed right?
Also a link to the signal stabilizer you'd recommend would be cool
Really need to pull the trigger on this, but I'm not to good in the kitchen.......

Throw away the stock plastic housing, then using the stock mounting holes on the medal plate/bracket I mounted the taillight to that up side down,so the light screws to the medal plate cut down to only protect the light from road debree and 2 L brackets to hold it in place on the side stock bolt holes on the fender.immortal13 said:Hey clar, how did you mount the light to the fender? I can't tell from your pics.
Here is the Kawasaki taillight I posted the ebay link to no need to bake your lenses with this one just splice the wirring harrness.clar2001 said:looks like this one would work without changing the lens , would only half to splice in the wirring harrness. and the lens is not pointing out rounded.

Yes , but I never installed the kawaski one only r1Michael said:so to re-cap for the slow folks like myself... that Kawasaki light fits the Stryker without any other mods? then the yellow wires are for the turn signal and the others power the brake function? (or vice versa?)
Did not like the curve to the lens.Gator8 said:Why do you need to switch covers...my R1 went right in..they are in fact the same housing. Just trying to understand this one.immortal13 said:I liked the R1 light execpt for havin to switch covers....pain in the ass. turned out nice tho
