Well the itch to mod has started as it does with every new toy I purchase.. Just got done drilling the stock exhaust which improved the sound more then I thought it would.. Have been looking into some other mods, mostly cosmetic type as I am not really concerned with performance mods.. It is my first bike and has more then enough power at this point.. But anyway.. Searching around I have found a few mods I am interested in.. I am getting a helmet lock, led lights, custom storage mod, etc but have been looking into a security system.. I am on the fence if I should make the purchase.. I mean the bike is not a daily driver type of vehicle.. The bike is mostly used for cruising, not really left alone all that long.. When I am home it is parked in the garage.. Just wondering how many guys out there put the security system on the bike or those that skipped this mod.. I have been looking at the Scorpio SR-i900 or the SR-i900r.. Looks to be in the 300-350 range depending on the model.. If I am not mistaken install is pretty much plug and play with the oem connector.. Just not sure if the 300-350 could be better spend elsewhere.. Thanks for any input..

I put a gorilla alarm system with pager on my bike and can honestly say I seldomly use it. For the most part people keep a distance from bikes around here and my bike now gets locked up in the shed and also has survelance cameras on it 24/7. I think if your comfortable enough I would pass up the alarm and save it for after everything else is done.

There are a few of us with alarms. While others may not agree with me, I don't feel they are overly important for our bikes. Busas, R1's, and custom rods and the like are hot on the market for parts. They make great candidates for theives looking for a buck. Strykers at this moment in time.... Not so much. There's not a huge market for Strykers. ****, I've only met one person who actually knew what this bike was since I've bought it.

If you're looking to deter vandals, still not much of a deterrent. All it takes is less than 5 seconds if someone wants to piss you off enough. 1 second to push a bike over then all you'll have is a noisy bike sideways on the floor.

Have the Scorpio 900 with perimeter sensor and love it. Gives me piece of mind that my bike is protected. Even if I forgeto lock a saddlebag, the sensor will warn people off if thy get too close.

I still have mixed feelings about an alarm. I have a trimtrack gps tracking device hard wired on mine. I can always track it down if someone decides to go on a joy ride.
