I am looking at buying a Stryker in the near future. I found a 2011 Stryker with 1400 miles on it. It has a set of Vance and Hines slash cut pipes on it I believe is the only aftermarket. The guy is asking $6800. I would imagine $6500 would buy it. I'm thinking this is a good price, but wanted to see what you guys all think first.

Also I am moving up from a 2007 Vulcan 900 Custom.

For reference my dealer has a 2012 new one for 8400 + tax which is in itself a great deal. 1400 miles is nothing. I put double that on in my first 1/2 season.
Take the good deal on the Stryker and then you can offer a good deal on the Vulcan and unload it fast.

That looks to be a geat deal but also depressing that our model is being sold so low. These bikes hold absolutely no value. Lesson learned if your going to buy one brand new make sure you plan on holding it for a long time or you will be just flushing good money. The secondary market is where its at for the Stryker and any other Yamaha I do believe.

honestly i think its just the economy...you can't hardly give used bikes away right now unless it says Harley Davidson on it.

I'd have to agree. With dealers pushing out leftovers at garage sale prices
(I paid $8400 for a brand new leftover 2011 Styrker 0 miles) it's got to take a toll on resale value. the way I look at it is I didn't buy the bike to resell it but it sure does hurt those who have to sell right now. I'll just plan on doing mine up the way I want it and enjoy the experience.
