I recently removed mine. When I bought the bike, the previous owner said the hi beam burned out after 2000 miles. I didnt like the idea of not being able to get bulbs locally, esp if it burned out on the road. I installed a Phillips Motovision instead. Provides ample light for my night driving at a fraction of the cost.

My ballast was hid in the neck of the bike and the rest of the wires stuffed into the headlight housing. Tight fit, but doable. Light output seemed good but I never got to test the hi-beam. No problem with heat. Note: after installation, you'll probably have to adjust your beam direction.

This is similar to what I had.

I swore by DDM, but I had issues about 9 months down the road with one ballast not firing all the time, and then about 3 months later, it wouldn't fire at all... Sometimes they both wouldn't fire and would need for me to turn em on and off a bunch of times..(that was in my car)

The almost $200 set I have in my truck I have not had one issue in 5 years...

DDM has a warrenty, but if it is not their problem, they charge you a crap ton of money to send you the ballast back
