Nowadays, cycling is a trend among young people. After the COVID 19 pandemic is over, many of us may plan to travel by bicycle. Not everyone can own two bicycles, one of which is used for travel and one for daily urban cycling. Therefore, most of us are looking for a machine that can achieve these two functions at the same time. Many R15 owners or future buyers may have concerns about the Yamaha R15's touring performance. In this article, we will introduce the advantages and disadvantages of Yamaha, and then finally determine whether the bicycle is suitable for travel?

Yamaha R15 is equipped with a 155 cc single-cylinder fuel injection liquid-cooled engine. The bicycle also has a variable valve actuation function, which can change the valve timing after a certain speed. The engine can produce a maximum power of approximately 18.3 bhp at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.1 Nm at 8,500 rpm. Therefore, the engine really likes to have a higher speed. In order to improve the performance of the bicycle, R15 is also equipped with a sixth gear. On the highway, people can easily cruise at a speed of 80-100 km/h, and if necessary, push the bicycle further to 120.

In addition to sufficient highway cruising performance, the Yamaha R15 also has better mileage than any station wagon there. According to reports, if driving at a constant steady speed, the bike can return a mileage of 40-45 km/l on the highway. The fuel tank capacity of a bicycle is about 11 liters, so the average cruising range with a full fuel tank should be restored to 450 kilometers, which is sufficient considering that the rider is a beginner. Now, these are the advantages of Yamaha R15's touring ability.

The seat of the bicycle is very hard, and the posture of the rider is firm. During long-distance travel, the seating position may be busy and back pain may occur. Due to the use of a clip-on handlebar and a harder suspension, the bicycle has better performance on highways, but it will cause problems when driving on rough roads. It can be solved by choosing Yamaha MT 15, but the next problem still exists on the two bicycles

Luggage rack
Many of us have experienced problems related to the shortage of petty cash. You can easily install a small suitcase, but for long-distance travel, you may need more luggage space and installation parts, or even difficult to install the suitcase. Nevertheless, many luggage manufacturers have introduced different types of luggage that are very suitable for the Yamaha R15.

In conclusion
Honestly, if you are passionate about traveling, you can take any motorcycle tour. But in particular, the travel comfort of Yamaha R15 is good enough. You just need to make sure that you have enough rest time during the trip to avoid physical pain.
