We need to decide on a location for this year's meetup. We will have several small meetups, but we want to at least try for 1 big one.

What locations do we want to consider? What dates are more people free?

Champaign - my place is open for a big cookout / Firepit. There are several hotels, and we can probably fit 1 couple to sleep upstairs on an air mattress or something.

Gipsoncity - Closer for Chicago folks, but farther away for Southern. I used to work in this town, but do not know much about the food or hotels. I'm sure it has a few.

Elgin - We could do the same trip as last year, and meet up at the upscale hooters joint. This is very far for Southern, but more Chicago people will attend a closer event(we had something like 13 last year).

Other options? Please chime in, i'd like this done before July.

Champaign works for me as long as we do the BBQ in the early afternoon(6 hour round trip). Or since they are a college town I'm assuming just about every food chain known to man is right around there!

Dates are tougher as the misses wants to entertain with the pool since last season was cut short due to my slow pace of construction...

Good dates for me are currently 6/8-9, 6/15, 6/29(maybe), 7/6(maybe), 7/14, 7/20-21(probably)

Champaign is about a 2 1/2 hr ride each way for us. So, not too bad.

End of June / beggining of July would be great for a practice run for Maggie -... give us more time in the saddle to break em in.

6/15 is ideal for me. My wife leaves for Germany on 6/17, and she wants to see all of you again.

If we do it at my place, i'm going to have to meet someone half way, just so i get some riding time in....

If Steve & Patrice can make that date(unsure about Steve's bike status; last weekend all he had was the rear fender) we could take I55 and meet you where it intersects rt47 and go from there.

Should know more tonight about Steve's bike. There may be a few more pieces done by tonight. And hopefully have the tank by Friday.

Last year it was a really good ride through Gibson City. Would probably go that way again.

Yea that works it's just a shorter ride for you unless you have a more "scenic" way back to your house. I55 connects w/ rt47 in Dwight so plenty of options.

We saw the movie theater and commented on that when coming back from U of I. The ones left around here are getting a little scary. Not the same as when I went w/ my family as a child

Dont think I can make that date either. Spending the weekend with my dad for fathers day. Plus the wife gets back on Saturday from a DC road trip and will not want to ride anywhere for a while.

Sure we can do that. Need to find a place to meet. I think I remember a few places across the street from the drive-in, just don't remember what was there.
