It will be extremely difficult. There are "shear" bolts holding it to the triple tree. You would have to remove the triple tree (easy) but find a welder to weld a bolt to unscrew the ignition then you would have to cut it and extend the wires to where you want it as it's not long enough, what are you trying to do?

Thanks for all the compliments it makes all of the work worth it. As for the questions the rear tail light is under the rear fender I bought the rear tail light and turn signal combo from chrome glow they are very good to deal with. I will admit during the day it is not as bright as you would want but at night it looks awesome. As for the key? Well there is no key. The bike has two switches on it that both must be turned on for it to start. I won't tell you where they are mounted but if you do this make sure you have to have a key to get to one of them so you can disable the bike if you have to leave it somewhere that you dont feel safe. It is actually a very easy mod and it cast about 20 bucks. I bought most of my other stuff from PCS and they were pretty cool too and I really like there lowering kit. I also found with a short test ride with the wife that it is not a good idea to run the 2 1/4 drop with a 240 tire. I f you want to know anything else send me a message.

I looked into relocating the key and then decided I'm just going to go with a Digital Guard Dawg once i get some extra cash. I put an RFID Push button start in my car and I love not having to deal with a key. Once I put the system on the bike I'll deal with removing the cylinder. You can SOMETIMES get a prick punch and slowly work what is left of the security bolts free, but it takes time and patience.

This is a very easy mod. The getting the ingnition off the clamp is a pain in the you know what but if you take the clamp off the bike and flip it over you can get to the shear bolts easier and just use a large drill bit I think I used a 3/4 and they will come off after a few choice words. I did not reuse the stock ingnition I instead put the bike on switches in hidden spots. It looks super clean and it is really easy. I put one under the seat as a kill switch so if you ever have to leave the bike somewhere for awhile or whatever the situation you can just take the seat off and kill that switch and nobody can start it even if they now where your other switch is because they will have to have a key to get under the seat. The other switch I mounted right where your frame comes together under the tank to where it is hidden but easy to access. I actually used the belt guard material to make my brackets for under the seat and tank and just screwed them into existing holes and used some zip ties that you will never see to secure the brackets where there was nothing to bolt too. Run your wires straight off the ignition and run one to the kill switch( I used the ground) and then run the ground to your main switch along with your power and you are all done. I got the switches from Grainger and I might have part numbers but they are just generic rocker switches just make sure they are good for the voltage and amps they will be seeing.

Bump***

Anyone else tried this yet? I've been thinking of wiring all ignition power thru my cutoff switch on the handlebar.

My key is covered my a shield bag I have and is a huge pain in the arse to get too. If I could kill power to the bike from the cutoff switch, I would just leave the actual ignition key on all the time. It could still be turned off and removed for safety. Thoughts?
