Hey
I put them on today with the 8818 adaptors (the ones that are supposed to be for the rear).
Wow! What a difference! I realize its a lil weird to get so stoked about footpegs but this is like night and day bw the stockers. So much more room for shifting (for those of us who wear bulky steel toe work boots)....and tons of different mounting positions so u can put em where u like em.
I had previously been jacking around with the shift lever linkage so my boot wouldn't get stuck. I had the linkage about as far as it would go before it would just come off. Obviously not good. No more of that with these.....shift lever right back ijto stock position.
I didn't post pics cuz u probly already know what they look like.
Just wanted to mention that I highly recommend them for anyone who is looking. Best thing I've got for the bike so far!

good to hear. I have the same prob while wearing work boots, always getting stuck while coming to a stop light. Was gonna try to fiddle with the clutch position but this will be a great improvement and something else to put on the list. Thanks for posting.

Because the stock pegs have such a tall rubber top to reduced engine vibration to the foot I would say I gained over an inch in clearance for the shifter. As far as creature comforts mods goes this and the PU backrest for the solo set are my favorite. Glad to hear others enjoy it as much as I do.

Ok now those are cool ... we have been toying with the idea of floorboards of some sort for mine but I do like the pegs, I do not like the position of the brake or shift levers...

I know what you mean. I have the vstar 1300 front floor boards on mine and I feel it is the best thing i have done to my bike. What a difference floorboards make. I never thought that adding floorboards would make that kind of difference but you never know until you try and once you do there is no turning back from this mod.

8814 spline adaptors do work.

FWIW and contrary to many posters on this forum, I did use the spec'ed 8814 spline adaptors per Küryakyn's web site (http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/1598/Splined-Peg-Adapter-for-Cruisers-Sport-Bikes) and had no problems with installation at all. The only thing that bothered me a little bit was the fact that the OEM cylindrical spacer that the the spring wrapped around does not fit within the width of these adaptors. Mind you, the spring still has the bolt through it, but the hollow tube pieces had to be left out. I also had to utilize one of the optional washers (4 included) on each side of the bike.

When I put my dually pegs on I saw the same thing and thought about just leaving the spacer out and going with the spring just wrapped around the bolt but I didn't like it.
Without the tension that is added to the spring by the girth of the bolt the spring fits sloppy and could, in my opinion, become un-clipped to the bottom portion of the peg.
The solution was simple... Grind about a tenth of an inch off the cylinder's length and it fits perfect.
The spring has it's snap that it should and (Most important for an anal retentive guy like myself) I know it's done right!

That's a great suggestion – to grind down the cylinder – I might give that a try. The action in the boards with the current setup does seem solid however, but I sure would like to get those cylinders back on. I hated leaving something out of the OEM setup especially since no new parts replaced it. Thanks!
