On a scale of 1-10, how much of a PIA is it going to be to do this? I have a biker buddy of mine helping me, and he knows his stuff... but just curious...

L&M has a instruction video on You Tube. Just go to You Tube and type Stryker Lowering Spring. Looks like the bottom is easy to get to, it is just getting to the top that's a pain. The battery box has to come out and everything attached to it. Most of the other stuff just has to be pushed out of the way. To replace the actual spring is very easy. Probably a 2 hour job.

I just took my wife's bike to my local dealer. It took them 2 hours. I figured $120 is better than me trying to do it.

For those that installed the lowering spring, my wife said the suspension feels stiffener now. I assume I can adjust the shock some...but my question is how much? She has a solo seat and she is only about 145 pounds.

Any advice??

I was thinking of installing the shock myself and follow the L&M video... Im pretty handy on my bike but i didnt want to put up with all the crap under the seat so i just the shop do it for me..... took them 4hrs cuz of all the crap i already have on my bike..... lots of LED lights n stuff lol forgot i didnt leave them with much slack when removing the rear fender lol its all good he only charged me for 2.5hrs

It took my hubby 2 hours to do mine. Who needs a local shop when you have a husband. Great hourly rates too. ;)
My wife even loves turning wrenches too. ;)

11Stryker....thanks for the #2 setting recommendation. When I looked at the shock, the dealer put it up to 5 when he did the lowering spring. Not sure why.
But I could see a mark for #4 and also a mark for #5. I changed it to #2 based on your recommendation, and my wife loves the setting. She was a little ticked at me yesterday because the ride was a lot stiffer. I guess going up to #5 plus the different spring made a big difference to her. I got the spring and install for her birthday so she didn't know about it. Now with the revised setting she loves it!

The lower spring definitely makes it look sharp next to mine without the spring.

I didn't have any problems adjusting the spring once I jacked up the bike and took the weight off the back tire. What did we do before the interent and forums? My wife says I'm addicted.
