What is the most you are willing to pay to have the L&M octagon gas cap accent

I think L &M's pricing across the board is flat out nuts. Then we get a half off deal, and the prices are still very high. I'm glad you chose the gas cap accent as an example, cause that price is just insane for such a simple piece. But as always, the price is set at what people are willing to pay. I dont fault anyone for paying those prices... You do what you gotta do to make your bike your own. But some retailers just mark up stuff to high heaven because they can. They rarely think that if it were more affordable, theyd sell more units, make the same profit, and also establish a better reputation with their client base.

That gas cap accent is worth $19. .. Not a penny more.

I love Low and Mean and could care les what they charge for their goods, they are practically the only builder of aftermarket custom parts for our rides and this is a limited market and they have overhead and being a business owner myself I understand the costs involved.

They are high but they are the only ones that make stuff for the stryker
Sadly yes, they are one of very few companies making parts for the Stryker. So we get our pockets picked. Guys in the sport bike world would laugh at the prices we're asked to pay cause there are just SO many suppliers available to them.

Once again, I am not criticizing anyone who chooses to pay those prices. To each his own.

My point is I think they could profit more if their products were priced more competively. Think about it...they give pretty steep discounts for group buys, whuch results in a large order. Just think if that was the regular price.

You good Sir, must have some real deep pockets. ;)
I unfortunately, have to save for my mods. As I'm sure many members do.
L & M's pricing makes that very hard.
Well I do have to say the last several years my family has been blessed with great results from me working my fingers to the bone building our little business. My point is there aren't that many of our bikes on the road so this is a limited market for them. I have no facts but I've seen maybe 10 other Strykers on the road since I bought mine and only one of them was modded at all and it just had bags. So basically not everybody wants to mod this bike so their market is limited.

Nothing against L&M and what they are trying to provide in custom parts. However I am also not a fan of the gas cap trim and the overblown price for what you get. I ordered one. It came with shoddily(?) applied magnets, which did not even come close to helping it stick to the tank. The bottom is completely flat which means it doesn't sit well on the tank. I know it might be difficult to get the contours right but for the price I expected much more.

I think this whole pole is not a very effective way to get one an improved product or two build a realtionship with a vendor, I say nay nay guys
To the contrary, and with all due respect, I think the feedback here has a general theme that the good folks at L&M should see as valuable. Every vendor should want to hear what potential customers have to say about pricing and quality of products.

I say keep it coming, positive and negative.

Midlife, great idea brother.

I agree, if that was the case it would for sure draw my attention. But for now it would take me a few months to stash cash to even come close to placing order for something.

But since our rides are only in their second to third production year, it's still going to be hard to find good bolt on parts that is specific to the style of the bike. L&M has the cornered the market for the time being and until someone else becomes a competitor they will remain being the go to people for stylish stryker parts.

I do have to agree with others that their products are a bit pricey but since they are the only ones making parts for us they can pretty much set their price to what ever they want and people will ultimately pay it,
