Just wondering for those of you that have this already and have seen it's sie in person would one rattle can be enough to paint it. Call me cheap but at $34 per can of color matched paint I am not ttrying to stock up on it. I was just going the DIY route and throw some clear coat on there also. Thanks for any help.

Wanted to revive this and ask a question. Im trying to get my l&m intake adapter and front fender painted. Right now they are gel coated black. Is it worth it to take to a body shop and actually get it sprayed the right way with our paint code, or have most of you used spray paint? Doesnt the spray paint need clear coating?

My Son used the kit from colorite on his impact blue chinscoop and turned out great. His kit came with 3 different cans. First was a sealer and was white. Then the blue and lastly- the clearcoat.

His was gel coated pretty smooth, but you could sand the scoop ahead of time if needed. The Colorite kit was near 125.00 though just to give you a heads up. Probably enough to do a front fender and chinscoop though.

Just an FYI,

Order your parts from L&M? order them painted unless you are doing a custom paint job.....

No shortcuts here ya'all

Attack!
D A M N mikoloe, are you serious...lol.. Their prices for painting an item is ridiculous. Just to paint the scoop (which costs 299) it's additional $235 on top that.

But hey you got the money spend it...lol..

That's probably not that far from what a bodyshop would charge. two part paints and sealer are wickedly expensive these days. I've got probably $700 or so in just paint cost. The sealer requires it's own catalyst which is different from the clears and the color basecoat. Materials are pricey and once mixed they have a shelf life measured in hours.

I left the chin scoop the flat black it came in and the front black gel coat will shine up. After shining the front fender up slap some wax on it and its hard to tell. I may not get my stuff painted unless I went all custom job. Of course I have the raven so the black matches well.

Yes I'm serious! paint shops will still run you $200 and just might match it. Pay the extra $35 to $50 and be done with it!

No short cuts unless your a bad ACE painter like Wayne.
Even his work took time and money!
